I'm doing 210 push-ups a day now: 7 sets of 30.
Thursdays really do seem to be the toughest. My body is just starting to get used to the current amount of demand I put on it, but the accumulated soreness of Monday through Wednesday makes it very difficult on Thursdays, even on the early sets.
Sometimes I think of what I'm shooting for and wonder if it's even possible for me. Even one set of a hundred seems daunting, and I want to do ten of them one day. But I have to keep in mind that is about three-and-a-half months away, and I won't even be doing 500 push-ups a day until August 8.
So I have to just keep doing what I've been doing, and have faith that I'm clever enough to make up a schedule I can actually keep up with.
In technical news, I've started timing my breaks between sets. A set usually takes about a minute right now, and the spacing of my sets generally varies from 15 to 25 minutes, and is usually 20 minutes. I'm working toward keeping it around 15 minutes, but I want to be sure that I can actually complete my sets. I've had troubles in the past actually doing the entire set without collapsing when I didn't space them far enough apart.
Also, this past Sunday I only did 3 of my intended 6 sets. It was a really long weekend, and I was exhausted. It doesn't appear to have seriously harmed my progress, so I figure as long as things like that are rare, it shouldn't be a problem.
Still going...

Hard to Please
I realize it's ridiculous of me, but I often find myself feeling like I should be progressing faster. To put things in perspective, I have to remind myself that I'm now doing five times as many push-ups per day as I did on my first week. That's not insignificant. Also, my appearance and energy levels are both still improving.
Patience, Jeff. You're only 15% of the way there. Results will be quite satisfactory once you're 100% of the way there. :)

Progress Update
I've been doing 6 sets of 25 the past couple days (that's 150 a day! w00t!), and though it's going fairly smoothly, I'm still nervous about this coming Monday. I don't know yet whether I'll be ready for 30 push-ups per set, but I'll do my best, as always.
I'm still eating more than I should, so more of my weight gain than I'd like is fat. I'm tryin' to tone it down, but it's difficult sometimes. Nothin' but slim-fast for me today until dinner. :)

Whew...tired.
Up to 125 a day now. Five sets of 25. Next week is six sets of 25, starting Monday.
It's getting pretty difficult lately. I forgot to mention, I've been trying to build muscle very quickly in order to keep up with my ambitious schedule.
To that effect, I have been drinking protein shakes right after my workout is complete, every day for the last 3 weeks or so. It was 1 a day, now I usually do two shakes, one scoop apiece. BTW, I'm so glad I got that bullet blender, it's perfect for a lazy fellow like me. I just pour in the milk, put a scoop of the protein stuff in, screw the top on, and blend for a few seconds. It's about as effortless as constructing a shake can be.
I'll probably start using two scoops next week, and break up the workout into two super-sets, so I don't get exhausted and over-pumped. :)
As far as appearance goes -- it's a work in progress. I'm looking a little better, but I think I prob eat fattening food too much still. So muscle is def building and toning, but that layer of fat is still bigger than I think it should be. I can make up for it with cardio, and very likely should, as that should make it easier to stick with my schedule as well.
I wanna start posting pics, to motivate me. :D
Maybe on Mondays.
